  • It is a self-guided ride with no way markings saying ‘Mills n Moors route’

  • Minimum age of 12 years old when accompanied by a parent / guardian

The ride

The rides on the 'Mills n Moors Series' are a personal challenge. They are not races.  There is no ‘mass start', the route is NOT way marked and there is no rescue vehicle. We ride on bridleways, tracks, forest trails, urban greenways and the canal towpath.  Some downhill and uphill sections are physically challenging and there are tracks across open moorland but the routes are NOT techy enduro or downhill mtb style routes.

Group social ride

There is an option to join a small group ride which departs at 10.10am from the bike shop. There is no fixed speed we cycle at. We will be stopping and waiting for each other at the top of the many hills and we take turns opening the many gates!

The group social ride will take between 3-5 hours. It is not lead by a profession/qualified outdoor instructor and there is no mechanical backup except the fixing of the occasional puncture.

Anyone with a working mtb / e-bike / gravel bike is welcome but a minimum age of 18 years old on the group ride

The organisers do not provide insurance

It is advisable, but not compulsory, to have your own bike and personal injury insurance. Being insured through either British Cycling, Cycling UK or other appropriate body would help cover you for your personal liability and any possible bike loss/damage or injury.
